Her dedication to ensuring our comfort was evident right from the start, and her warm welcome instantly made us feel at home. One of the standout features of Hilltop Retreat is undoubtedly the breathtaking view it offers. The picturesque vistas of Matale and its surroundings were absolutely mesmerizing. Whether it was sipping a cup of tea on the balcony or simply gazing at the landscape, the view added a magical touch to our stay. I also want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Jennifer and her family for going above and beyond to make my stay memorable. They graciously accommodated my request to have breakfast ready by 6 am, as I had an early work commitment. Their attention to detail and commitment to meeting my needs elevated my experience to new heights. Hilltop Retreat truly lives up to its name as a haven of tranquility. It provides the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, whether you're visiting for work or leisure. The villa offers a serene and comfortable retreat that rejuvenates the soul. Overall our stay was amazing, the tents are comfortable and very clean, the food was nice but nothing exceptional, we were not able to do any of the hikes due to personal circumstances but it was still a very pleasant stay

We only had one night here. Beautiful location. dinner was a delicious classic Sri Lankan meal and breakfast was a great omelette cooked up by the wonderful Ashoka. The views are spectacular from the top of the hill. Also great view from the pool. Christo was also very welcoming and made our stay as comfortable as possible. He also took us on a bush walk around the property showing us all the different plants, herbs and fruits. If you’re lucky like we were you may spot a few wild elephants as well as the roam the hills around the property.

Book this place when you wish to see many things in and around Kandy! The owners went the extra mile to make me super happy. He is a safe driver who showed me many places per day in his comfortable car and she cooked fantastic meals for me with fresh herbs and spices out of their own ‘jungle’. They are a lovely and honest family, the best hosts during my world-travel :-) Also: the place is a gem in the mountains, beautiful decorated and with a clean pool. I felt really at home here.

Incredibly kind and knowledgable staff. Best Sri Lankan food I have had during my 3 weeks trip in Sri Lanka . Right in the middle of tea plantation.
