Comfy bed (king sized), check. Good wifi, check. Good-sized bathtub, check (even had a bar to help older folk get in -- which my bum knee appreciated). Clean, check. Loved the rustic aesthetic of the place. But it's the extras that really pushed the Farmhouse Inn into exceptional territory. The breakfast was fantabulous! We had what they called a "fritata" (I thought they had to have potatoes baked with the eggs, but here, eggs on the side). Super tasty. A really nice TV, not a cheap one. And a white noise machine -- a really good one. I'm a light sleeper, so I appreciated that. In fact, I ordered one because I slept the best I have in months. AND they have animals: peafowl, chickens, horses, a wild-looking goat, a friendly and fuzzy white dog. AND there are nature trails for you to walk about on the Hundred Acre Farm. This would be a great place to take kids for the weekend. Or a great getaway for a romantic weekend. But here's the kicker: we stayed there for the same price the soulless corporate hotels charge. True, it's further from downtown Madison and the highway, but this was soooooo worth the trip. I'd never heard of farmstays; I guess it's the American version of the Italian agroturismo. So glad we have places like this. Please stay there and keep these fine folks in business.

This hotel our rather B&B/Inn was one of the highlights of our trip. A nice old typical house for Savannah with a big room, very nicely decorated. There's even a lift for the luggage, which is rare in such houses, we appreciated that. The Inn has (limited) parking, but we always got a parking space. The breakfast is of course awesome and there's also a wine hour in the afternoon, where you can chat with other guests. The location is great too - it's a bit more than half a mile to the waterfront, there are many restaurants however near the Inn. Savannah is highly walkable and the Inn is pretty much located in the middle of it.

Absolutely gorgeous Inn and grounds and cleanliness was exceptional. Bed was very comfortable, room was large and well accommodated. Breakfast in the morning was delicious.

This is a true jem of Georgia hospitality which you will not find very often. When entering the little town of St Marys with its Spanish moss loaded trees not far from the little harbor, on the the right hand side you will reach the old villa with its porches on two levels. What a warm appearance! The owner Mardja welcomed us so friendly in this house which with all its overwhelming interior decor brings you back a hundred years in time. Rooms with all modern amenities are all following a bit some movie themes - ours was Gone with the Wind. But it all still remains authentic keeping the time travel character. In the afternoon, Mardja will serve you some homemade cake and coffee on the porch, dinner can be taken in one of the little restaurants at the harbor (literally 2 minutes walking distance). And finally there is some complimentary red or white wine which you can have on the porch in the quite and peaceful evening atmosphere. The next morning the breakfast is served fully styled on porcelain (we had fruits, homemade cake, freshly pressed orange juice and brewed coffee not to forget the tasty omelette soufflé). If you are to make a trip to Cumberland Island or just for a few days to ‚switch off‘ from a busy town life, do not hesitate to go here.

The Black Forest B&B of Helen, Georgia, offers guests a full breakfast every morning of their stay and free WiFi. The owner, Angie, her father and her staff are the best! Everyone is hospitable

This was my second stay at the Green Palm Inn and my husband's first stay. We love everything about staying here! Nicole is so welcoming, friendly, and such a great cook! Breakfast is always delicious! I love the quiet, cozy atmosphere of the inn and enjoy visiting with other guests over breakfast. I love that the inn is historical and decorated appropriately for the period. It is very clean as well. You absolutely cannot beat the location. We never moved our car after arriving for our three night stay. It is an easy 15 minute walk to the river, to Jones Street, to the Market, etc. I will always stay at the Green Palm Inn when visiting Savannah!
