Cozy place with friendly host. Lobby and room are nice. The room is warm even snowing outside. Shoes were placed around heater so you don’t have to worry wearing cold shoes the next morning. We have some trouble with our car and we are unable to speak/understand Japanese. Host helped us to make some phone calls and thankfully our problem was solved. Much appreciated for his kind assistance.

It was a perfect place to escape from the noisy city, get relaxed, just take a look around. Greal location facing the lake, very quiet and comfortable. It was extremely clean even for Japan. The owners were very friendly and helpful. There are a lot of places of interest around and different hot springs. Great value for money.

We were welcomed by the friendly host, who was in communication with us prior to our stay. He even offered to reserve a car park space for us. The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious; there were so many amenities available to us too. Despite facing/overlooking the main road, the room was very quiet (double glazing) whilst giving us a lovely view over the countryside. Managed to book a room including breakfast for AUD103 per night, for 2 nights. As a solo traveller, this was really worth the money as the hotel had an amazing onsen - two outdoor ones, an indoor one and a sauna. The breakfast was delicious, with them changing the menu if you stay the second day as well. It's traditional Japanese breakfast, with fish, sashimi, pickles, egg and dessert. They even heat up the clam miso soup using the portable fire at your table when you arrive. The room has air conditioning and a mini fridge.

Just across the street from Lake Suwa, Hotel Saginoyu offers hot-spring baths, traditional multi-course dinners and a tea lounge.
