They helped us with transportation from and to the airport, they found us a guide to hike the volcano (Joao also is a guide) and gave us tips on things to do and trails to walk while on the island. The breakfast is excellent, abundant and varied. And they arrange it for you no matter what time you want it. The room is spacious and clean. The bed is comfortable. The whole place is peaceful and quiet and the views are simply breathtaking. If we ever go back to Fogo, we will definitely stay with Lea and Joao again!!

I was upgraded to the nicest room they have - it was very spacious and with breathtaking view over the sea and Brava island. Very pleasant staff, tasty breakfast and swimming pool. All of it for a decent price. Totally recommended!

TCHAN LOVe is a recently renovated bed and breakfast in Portela, where guests can make the most of its garden and bar. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. The rooms include a balcony with views of the mountain. The location is perfect. Right at the start for the hike to Fogo. The location in booking is (as of today) not correct, its right in the center of the village. But the owners are superfriendly and can send you the details via WhatsApp. I arrived late because I was hiking till sunset and he waited outside on the street, and after check in I got a really delicious meal. The room has 3 comfy beds, enough plugs to charge and extra blankets. The bathroom is modern and has a shower (unlucky only with cold water). In the main building there are tables and chairs and a small bar. There is beer, wine, softdrinks, water.... Everything is clean and the WiFi works great. Breakfast is included, but I didn't use it as I was out hiking. From the house you have perfect views of Fogo. I can really recommend this place.

Katya is very welcoming, cooks very (very very) well and takes care of her client like no one did in Cap Verde. We have spent 2 weeks in Cabo Verde and haven’t met anyone that kind, welcoming and helpful. The place is also amazing. Out of nowhere, facing the sea, natural swimming pool… you name it! Katya also offers a few options to discover Fogo island like pico de fogo.

The bed and breakfast features a sauna and a 24-hour front desk. Adriano and Filomena welcomed our group of 4 people in their house. The place was perfect for us: great location, wonderfull view on the caldeira and on the volcano, quality of the staff, size of the room, good food made by them. They have done everything to feel at home. Take time to discuss with Adriano, he has many stories to tell you about the caldeira and about Fogo. Thanks Adriano and Filomena for these days on another planet !

He organize pick up, cooking, tours around island. They brothers are very good gidės to climb to volcano. My big thanks to Felix. I would reccomend to stay there min. 2 nights.

At the bed and breakfast, each unit is equipped with bed linen and towels. This beautiful guesthouse is situated on a hill above town, with beautiful views and a nice breeze. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is amazing- an extravaganza of fresh fruits, bread, island jams, fruit juices, pancakes, eggs, cereal, fresh goat cheese from a local farm, cake, and yogurt. I am probably forgetting some items. We had dinner with Pipi as well, and it was fabulous. Pipi is a great cook. Everything was delicious. The guesthouse serves meals on a flowery terrace overlooking the bay. You hear the birds sing all day long here. Walking to Sao Filipe took us about 15 min, and we enjoyed being slightly out of the main town. The airport is a 5-10 min walk. I really liked this place and would stay here again.

Renovation is really well done which preserves the spirit of the building and is very atmospheric. Emmanuel, chef of staff is very friendly and helpful. He also makes great cocktails! Best place to stay in Sao Filipe.
