A roaring log fire and fantastic views of Cardiff and the beautiful Vale of Glamorgan make this hotel and its restaurant an ideal venue. Lovely staff. Open fire and comfy sofas. Local products including food and hand soaps. Well Appointed font yea, coffee and biscuits within the room- all local. Warm, comfortable, spotlessly clean rooms. Our second visit to the New House based on an equally lovely stay last year.

The cottage itself was spotless, beautifully decorated, and everything inside was brand new — it felt like a real home away from home. The peaceful location just outside Cardiff was ideal: close enough for an easy trip into the city, but far enough to relax in quiet surroundings afterward. Our host was incredibly kind and helpful, giving us great recommendations on where to eat and places worth visiting nearby. The continental self-service breakfast was a lovely touch, with everything we needed to start the day comfortably. I highly recommend Fig Tree Cottage to anyone visiting the Cardiff area. Whether you're going to a concert or just exploring South Wales, it’s the perfect place to stay. I would definitely return!

The staff couldn't have been any more helpful. Their onsite bar and restaurant was warm and welcoming. The owner even put the AFL (Australian Rules Football) on the screen the following morning after breakfast. The surrounding area was picturesque and full of history. This was an impromptu trip after visiting the surrounds which was connected to family history, and we got far more than we bargained for with this hotel and Llantrisant in general.

The possibility to wash up clothes was a valuable bonus!
