We've made great tours (by car) using this town as starting point. The green building is straight in the mid of downtown on Hafnarstraeti, facing the main pedestrian walking street. All hot spots of Akureyri, including souvenir shops, restaurants and pubs are few minutes walking distance, around the building. We've used Parka app for parking our rented car, at 4 minutes walking distance, on Skipgata, on the way heading the water front. We had kitchen and the Netto supermarket, 10 minutes walking distance heading the end of Brekkugata (or 4 minutes by car), was our perfect grocery pitstop. Keep in mind to spend some time in the beautiful Akureyri botanical garden (just 15 minutes walking from the premise, but you'll regret not going there), 5 minutes by car to the Forest Lagoon thermal baths, or just 6 minutes (on the way to Netto, on the right side) for reaching the best view point in Akureyri, Landnemar. Enjoy ! Btw, we've found streaming on the TV, in the apartment. Really great !
