Me and my partner could not be more impressed by our stay here, the views were breathtaking and the staff were wonderful catering to all our needs. Our meals, specified to our requests, were vibrant and full in taste. Supun was very informative of the nature that surrounded us and what wonderful walks were within the vicinity in which he sorted out a local to take us in his tuktuk. If you are considering to stay here I could not recommend it more! Supun in his humble nature eluded to a 10% charity donation from the fee you pay to stay here, so if nothing sways your mind giving a little to charity surely does!!

The full board meals were exceptional. I can’t stop thinking about their Sri Lankan breakfast, and the ice cream was unforgettable. The staff were welcoming and attentive. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the warmth and hospitality of the staff. Their genuine care and dedication to providing a top-notch experience reflected true Sri Lankan hospitality. Additionally, the view from the place was incredibly interesting. We were treated to vistas of mountains, paddy fields, and pristine natural environments. It truly felt like a natural and green heaven, offering a serene and calming atmosphere. Staying here felt like a form of meditation, enhancing the relaxation and rejuvenation of our vacation. Overall, our stay at A Frame Riverston was nothing short of magical, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat amidst stunning natural beauty.

This hotel was so wonderful !! First the place is particularly beautiful, the house has been made with a lot of taste and every detail is perfectly adjusted. (It's even better than the pictures). You are lost in the nature so this is a very good break to relax during the trip. Above all, the couple working there is amazing! They are kind and so helpful. Their food is delicious ! We booked the cooking demonstration and it was a really nice experience :) this hotel was from far the best of our 10 days trip !

We really enjoyed how we have been integrated, we felt just like another member of the family. We were looking for an authentic experience to spend aluth aruvudu (Buddhist new Year) and we could not have dreamed of something better than the few days we lived at the SNF. After 1month and a half we have never experienced this kind of welcome elsewhere. The whole family is very open minded, intelligent, sensitive, curious but what probably touched us the most is their willingness to share everything: Food (of course) but also what life learned them in general whether it is practical skills like cooking, cutting a coconut, observing nature or more "soft skills" like their view on life and their wisdom. We hope to come back as we know this was a unique and special experience.

Dave’s place is a paradise—peaceful, incredibly beautiful, and thoughtfully designed. The house was spotless and tastefully furnished, with fresh flowers and other welcoming touches that made it feel cozy and warm. The tradition of afternoon tea was especially lovely—restorative and a thoughtful way to connect with guests while introducing them to local teas. The food was excellent. We had the chance to try many new dishes and discover a wide range of Sri Lankan ingredients and flavors. The tea experience was very well done. We picked tea alongside the local tea ladies working on the property’s seven-acre plantation, and afterward, Dave walked us through the entire tea-making process—from plucking to producing both green and black tea. His passion for tea, and more broadly for his community and the work he's doing there, really shines through. The surrounding environment is magical. We went on a five-hour hike through the area—one of the best hikes we've ever done. The people in the nearby village of Gammaduwa were also incredibly welcoming, friendly, and kind. The staff were professional, warm, and well-prepared. Dave himself is a fantastic host. He even helped us arrange a driver at a fair price, which we greatly appreciated. The vision behind this guesthouse is truly inspiring—it reflects Dave’s deep care for the local community and his desire to make a meaningful impact. I really encourage anyone staying here to take a moment to learn more about it. It deserves recognition and appreciation.
