Cabins in Nosy Komba

Wonderful staff. Fantastic view. 10/10.

I stayed at Komba Cabana for a week with my mother. It was everything I could have wished for from an island getaway, and more. It will stay in my memory forever like a blissful dream. We arrived by boat on the beach to a welcoming committee. Komba Cabana is a small and intimate resort with its own pretty private beach. The design is simple, stylish, sustainable, using local materials. There are little touches everywhere, which make it special, like complementary local chocolate and vanilla, mosquito coils and sunscreen in the rooms, footbaths outside the rooms to wash off the sand, with floating hibiscus flowers. The food is fantastic, with a choice of 2 fresh dishes daily, based on what is available. Villagers bring fresh fish and fresh produce daily to the kitchen, and the menu is designed accordingly. By the end of the week, we felt like family, Spilar and her family and staff are so welcoming and hospitable and friendly. The sea is clear and excellent for swimming. We had an awesome outing to two nearby islands to snorkel, and saw turtles and tropical fish. We plan to come back here every year, and next time bring the rest of the family.

Very welcoming staff and a lovely location. A special mention to Ornella who really looked after us. The lemurs come at sundown for bananas which is really special and was the highlight of our stay. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. The chef provides options based on what he has & cooks tasty dishes including fresh fish & prawns. The owner ( Jean Michel) was very helpful and arranged 3 days of Scuba diving for us as well as a trip to Lokobe to see the wildlife. I would recommend for a few days of peace & tranquility.

What an absolutely lovely stay at this lodge with a breathtaking view! It is quite the climb to get up to the lodge, but it is absolutely worth it. Our hosts were so welcoming and accommodating, it made our stay that much more relaxing. And to top it off, the presence of lemurs is a one of a kind experience. Memories made for a lifetime, thank you!

Close to the Nosy be airport. The view is spectacular and private. The food was good and the staff friendly and helpful. I loved the bungalow very much and I had a great view from my window. Manager was very helpful with explaining how to get to where I needed to go and arranged a boat that was wonderful for me. Everything was lovely, clean and nice.

Lovely place, lovely staff, has everything you need. A little far from everything but a great getaway. we had scooters to move around so it was perfect. Owner was very helpful too. Would recommend.

The owners Isak and Sunette made our whole stay exceptional and great! From day one we felt like we were staying with good friends. The property itself is beautiful and very well maintained down to the last detail (our respect goes to both of you, considering there was only jungle there before ;) ). The rooms are very clean and well-kept, the terraces/balconies of the bungalows are beautiful with a great view of the sea. Filtered water is available, can be constantly refilled and is included in the price (which is not self-evident of course: see Ankarana Lodge, for example ...), which is also very sustainable because it means that not too much plastic waste is produced. The lounge/bar/restaurant area, like the entire complex, is lovingly furnished with great attention to detail. The food is great and really delicious, with Malagasy and South African influences. My wife is a vegetarian and they came up with something new (!) every day and cooked delicious dishes for her. Isak's homemade cocktails are - unbelievably - the best in Madagascar (thanks Isak ;) ). Isak and Sunette are very helpful when it comes to buying vanilla and pepper, so a fair price is guaranteed. The two also organize numerous excursions and activities, the house reef itself is already beautiful and well preserved (also thanks to Isak, who introduces new corals). In general, the two are very keen to “give something back” to their surroundings and to run a sustainable business and support the local population. The price-performance ratio is more than fair and the location is great. Tip: Save yourself the stay on Nosy Be and (only) stay on Nosy Komba, because the reefs/coral at Nosy Be in the north are unfortunately dead (global warming and Cyclone “Gamane”), which is why the dive operators from Nosy Be always head south towards Nosy Komba to dive there, because the reefs around Nosy Komba are still beautiful. Simple but a realy nice, clean,calm and peaceful. Helpful and charming staff speaking also english. Beach in front of the lodge. Lemurs in the garden. Hammocks to chil during the day. Nice food in the Restaurant.
