we traveled with two dogs and were very pleased! The owner is very responsive and attentive. He sent us a video of the house, told us everything in detail, was always in touch. There is a very beautiful promenade next to the house. The location of the house is great. A cozy closed yard where you could just sit and relax watching the chickens

A beautiful setting in an affluent, serene area of Sassenheim. We had the Loft apartment at the side of the house, opposite an ancient ruined castle, overlooking a quiet waterway. Cosy, romantic and cottage-like. A private (if teeny) sauna & toilet on entering the front door. At the top a little kitchenette with French doors onto a small sun terrace over the canal. Room to lay outside on loungers when sunny, or just sit and relax. Very private, quiet and calm. A large bed squeezed into a space opposite a basin & shower. Cosy, quiet & comfortable, with Netflix freely available. Annemiek, the owner, was just lovely. We hired the (top quality) e-bikes for 2 days which were excellent, well worth paying 3x the cost of ‘City bikes’ and made hilly coastal dune cycling against gale winds a piece of cake. The bikes virtually rode themselves!

The property was stylish and cosy. The enclosed garden was fantastic to have (easy for our dog to go out) and the location was perfect for the dunes and beach.

The owners of the lodge were really helpful, they always responded pretty fast to any messages. We had a really great time. From the lodge you could reach the beach, pubs, restaurant and even the supermarket by foot (maximum 10 minutes walk). The lodge itself upon arrival was tidy, the kitchen was well equipped, if you want to cook for yourself it’s no problem. I would say the lodge is ideal for a vacation at the beach, but also if you want to visit some of the bigger cities in the surroundings.
