I loved my stay in retoño, a little paradise in front of the ocean, run by some of the kindest people I’ve met. I had an unforgettable 2 days in there and they can cook an amazing vegetarian meals, there are filtered water as well.

Property is only few meters from the sea but by far the best part was the family could not do enough to make our stay fantastic. They took us on a walk when we arrived to get our bearings, took us whale watching and organised and provided transport for a visit to the jungle plus more.

Very well located in the middle of the village, which is super cute by the way ! The host Yefer is really kind, and helpful, you can book tours with him and also book the lancha to go back to nuqui as well :)

A long wooden platform guides you into your castle away from any distractions. This place is a hidden gem in the middle of the jungle. The pictures completley downplay how amazing this place is. A perfect sanctuary away from busy life it gives you what you need ,rest and peace. As you walk back out of your castle on a long wooden platform there you find pristine beaches for surfing a "paradise " depending on the rain and the light" . The food is super clean , the cleanest i experienced yet. And the assortment and variety was great. I had a mix of papaya pinapples and fresh fruit along side a well thought out breakfast .It felt like this place was visioned and built by travallers. Function is beauty. I loved being able to take the bicycle wherever i needed and the hosts were kind and were always checking if there's anything i need.

Je komt aan met het vliegtuig in Nuqui. Daar wacht de eigenaresse Marcela je op en je bagage wordt naar het bootje gebracht. Een schipper brengt je in 25 minuten over de zee naar de locatie. Dit maakt het al bijzonder. Let op dat je de boot in de zee uitstapt bij aankomst, dus een korte broek aantrekken. Slechts 2 houten huisjes op het strand, leuk ingericht, waardoor het voelt alsof het een prive verblijf is. Marcela de eigenaresse wordt bijgestaan door 2 lieve kokkinnen die heerlijk vers koken in het hoofdhuis, waar je ook dineert op de veranda met uitzicht op zee. Met dieetwensen wordt rekening mee gehouden. Wij waren er voor de walvissen te spotten. Wij verbleven er 4 nachten en hebben 3 dagen een walvissentocht gedaan. Hier moet je wel voor bij betalen, maar het was magisch! Wij waren er in juli, het walvissenseizoen. Veel moeders met kleintjes. Iedere dag hebben wij verschillende groepen met walvissen kunnen spotten. De schipper is een bekende van Marcela uit het dorpje, een goede boot met een zonneluifel. Zij varen goed en weten goed hoe zij de walvissen moeten spotten. Zwemvesten aanwezig.

This is a trip that is one of those you never forget. Staying at this hotel was surreal, I mean, you are in the middle of the jungle where you hear the sounds of nature like never before. Staff was awesome, we were very well taken care and the food was insanely delicious! Rooms were nice and clean!

Gabriella the owner was super nice and welcoming and very helpful , the property is located a bit out of town but is very beautiful .

Location could not be better, right at the most fantastic beach I have ever been at. Every evening we walked 20 meters to the beach to watch the most spectacular sunsets. Pedro and Diana, the owners, are incredibly nice and helpful. We didn't plan anything about our stay, we just asked them and they helped us organise everything. You can have home cooked breakfast for an extra 30k pesos, which is great value for money. It was very tasty and they would cook it in time for our activities every time. Could not recommend more!
