So happy we decided to stay for 4 days (we had considered Jetwing Lake and the Heritance) as the hotel is absolutely perfect. My husband and I stayed in the casita with the pool while our daughters were in a two bed room. The rooms and bathrooms are immaculate — the outdoor bathroom exceeded expectations with high end fixtures and no critters even in the middle of the night. We had all meals at the property and the chefs deliver on both Sri Lankan and western food. Super fast wi-fi in the rooms and on the property. The pool and gardens create a relaxing vibe. Wedge, the owner, could not have been a more gracious and helpful host. He and the team arranged transport and local outings to Sigiriya, Minneriya, Dambulla and a spa for massages. Help was always available, if needed. Truly a wonderful place!

We had a truly wonderful stay at Rock Shade Chalet – Sigiriya. The chalet was clean, spacious, and well-equipped, with a beautiful natural setting close to the main attractions. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious and freshly prepared, making our stay very comfortable. A special mention goes to Mr. Lasantha, who gave us massive support throughout our stay. His warm hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine care made a big difference. Furthermore, he arranges Sri Lankan cooking lessons for foreign guests, which is a wonderful initiative to share our food and culture with the world. What impressed us most is that all of this is offered at an affordable price, and the team works tirelessly 24/7 to give their very best to guests. Overall, Rock Shade Chalet is a perfect place for a peaceful family getaway, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sigiriya.

We had two favourite stays (from 7) and this one is one of them. Really nice host, he spent nice time with us talking. Very nice family. The location was perfect. Peaceful place near to jungle. Nice garden, sounds of nature, view on lion rocks. Really nice breakfasts.

Very nice place, very clean, with a beautiful garden (we even saw a wild peacock inside!) and views to Lion's rock. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the breakfasts were delicious. We would repeat!

The place was fully covered with trees. Room was spacious and clean. Washroom was big and clean. Janak, the owner was very sweet and helpful. Breakfast was wholesome and tasty. I strongly recommend to book this place. Worth money. Perfect stay at Sigiriya.

The pool and the huts are lovely. Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner were delicious and the host went out of her way to cook for us and help us out plan our trip. Her husband also drove us when need which was very appreciated! Thank you

Our stay was really great thanks to Isanka and his father who were really helpful. We were in sri lanka for the first time and this was our first destination so we didnt really know how to get around and they took us everywhere with their tuktuks, arranged a good massage and a safari and helped us with finding the bus to trincomalee. Thank you again and hope we will visit Your lovely house again :)!
