Fantastic location. Staff really went above and beyond our expectations. We had an early check in. We received a free upgrade and as I was celebrating my birthday we also received a bottle of wine in our room. Staff were very attentive. The food was great, both the evening meal and breakfast the following morning. We highly recommend and will see you again soon.

Very luxurious cabin, new, modern, clean, spacious, fabulous kitchen and bathroom. Very quiet. The bath (with bath salts provided) was very relaxing. Cheese, chocolate and bubbles also provided. An outside deck at back of cabin. Great location close to the visitor centre where you catch the buses into the park, also close to Devils at Cradle, which is worth a visit. Small shop on site where basics and food can be purchased. Coffee at the visitor centre. Glad we stayed here and not Peppers, which looks very tired (popped in there for a meal after walking in the park).

This is a great area for hiking and bushwalking.

This is a great area for hiking and bushwalking. Be sure to check the weather before you go, as it can be very cold—even in summer. When we visited on Christmas Day, it was actually snowing, despite it being summertime in Australia. Make sure you dress warmly and bring appropriate layers. The area is quite open, so the wind can be very strong, although it eases when you pass through forested sections. The tracks vary, with some being man-made and others more natural, which can make certain sections challenging. Many of the tracks can also be quite wet, so waterproof hiking boots are highly recommended. There are several track options available, depending on whether you’re visiting for the day or planning to camp. The scenery is incredibly natural and beautiful, and we even spotted a few wombats along the way. Access to the tracks requires purchasing a shuttle bus ticket, and you’ll also need a Tasmania National Parks Pass.

We could have stayed another night to get another walk in, but we were on a tight timeframe to visit Tasmania. We ate at the Discovery Resort lodge both in teh restauarnt and had a takeaway the following evening. We also ate at the Peppers hotel bistro after a long walk. The shuttle bus is very helpful getting you in and out of the walks and runs like closkwork. Only a 15 minute wait between shuttles. We visisted the Tasmania Devil sanctuary which was good value for a couple of hours side trip.

We trekked the iconic Dove Lake circuit.

We trekked the iconic Dove Lake circuit. The trail was quite nice, but the lake and mountain itself are not particularly scenic in a “world context” (i.e., compared with sites in New Zealand, the Alps, Rocky Mountain National Park, etc). However if you go to Tasmania, this is considered a top sight. In good weather, Cradle Mountain is reflected in Dove Lake, but the water was choppy and the skies were cloudy on our visit, so we did not experience this. We did enjoy the Tasmanian Devil feeding sessions at Devils@Cradle. The conservationist was super knowledgeable and engaging, and we learned a lot! They have about 10 Devils and some spotted quokkas in the program.

Cradle Mountain is an amazing place.

Cradle Mountain is an amazing place. The scenery was amazing and with rain over the previous weeks there was lots of water flowing over various water falls. My wife and I were engaged at cradle many years ago. We now live in Tassie. Our favourite spot is a combination of Dove Lake walk and Marions Lookout. Getting around is easy with busses leaving from the visitors centre to the dove lake centre. There is nothing that we would change on our trip given that it was only a 2 night stop over. But as with most times we leave, we would always like to stay there longer next time.

The selection of walk was excellent.

The selection of walk was excellent. Signage for access to some of the walk was not optimal. There needs to be a display of weather information for the day, which walks are closed and more prominent information on dress attire.

The timing of our trip and very little crowd was the best part. Having pretty much Dove lake to ourselves was amazing. The weather was a bit so so but it’s was all prt of the experience. It’s an amazing, beautiful place. A must is to do the dove lake circuit and the Roony Creek to Dove lake. Walks are fairly easy and 80% on boardwalks. Marion’s lookout is a definite for next trip. Don’t forget to also do Devils @ cradle for amazing wildlife experience

Cradle Mountain Hotel is really close to everything in Cradle Mountain. The room was clean and very comfortable. Bathroom was modern and fresh. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The food at the Altitude Restaurant was excellent. Best pork belly and lamb shanks. Breakfast buffet was extensive and very good. There was a free laundry service so we did a load of washing. Spa facilities were also available although we ran out of time to use this service.

Beautiful cosy wood cabins a stone's throw from the Cradle Mountain Visitors Centre! Warm log fire, warm comfortable beds, surrounded by ancient trees and visited by wallabies at night! There's even a tame young female wombat ambling around, quite unphased by us humans. Great kitchen as well for cooking a simple meal. Loved it, I thoroughly recommend the Highlander to anyone visiting Cradle Mountain

Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge is set in a stunning location, surrounded by nature. We were delighted to see wombats, wallabies, birds, and even a platypus during our stay. The restaurant, spa, and lobby were all excellent, and there was plenty of parking available. The staff were amazing and truly enhanced our experience.
