The walk along the foreshore and down at the inlet mouth. Some of the older buildings in the town. Had a steak and kidney pie at the cake shop (rare to find one nowadays and usually only in country towns) The rundown camp sites here and there are something I find endearing as a reminder of my boyhood and I treasure that mixture of new and old neat and disheveled accommodation and can cope with both as most towns are exactly that . The young and old together. I imagine holiday times are rather busy so I was fortunate to be there in a quiet spell so my opinion may have been different otherwiseGuest review byJoy - 10.0

Absolutely loved this place, it has the best location and the best vibes! The host was ever so helpful and friendly, I felt so welcomed. There is so much to do in the area and so much wildlife to see, especially if you are into bird watching like me. There are also surf boards, a kayak and paddle boards at the holiday park which you can use. Paddling in the morning around the mangroves is so refreshing and once done you can have well-deserved and super tasty breakfast and a coffee at the Pelican Shores Cafe and you will be spoiled for options with the extensive menu. If I knew how good this place is I would have booked much longer stay, I truly hope I get to go back there some day. One thing to note however is that all eh shops in town close fairly early and so you may want to plane better for your first evening if you are arriving after 7pm. Sussex Inlet is a friendly place with good facilities. As it's a destination without through traffic, it's easy to get around without hassles. The streetscape, parkland reserves and playgrounds are obviously cared for and clean. Sussex is a lovely quiet place with rivers, beaches and lakes. A very nice walking path that runs from Chris Creek bridge to Badgee bridge. There are 2 clubs and a pub to eat at also several cafes. This was a little secret in plain view. For us, a wonderful and calming experience, with nature in plain view that you don't get in the chaos of our cities. Lots of wildlife, that inexplainable calming of a water view (especially when you live inland). Easy walking paths along the waterfront, and clearly a popular spot for those who are already in the know. I would recommend to just go and see for yourself. Property is next to Sussex inlet with direct access to the inlet and Cudimurrah Beach is a lovely walk around the inlet in the afternoon. Excellent spot for fishing and swimming but you must be careful when swimming as the current is very strong at all times of the day. Coin operated laundry facilities provided too which is a bonus.
