Not great shops in bridgetown unless you want souvenir's, Holetown place to go but more expensive. A very expensive island with often unfriendly service in the hotels and restaurants. Be aware that the east coast seas can be very rough with dangerous currents. Bridgetown is an interesting town with some history.
Bridgetown is an interesting town with some history. Rhianna Drive is worth a visit and there is a nice little bar right opposite the house she was brought up in. My studio apartment/hotel was in Hastings, a suburb about 3 miles south of Bridgetown. EXCELLENT location, across the street ("Hwy." 7) from a bus stop and beaches with 1.2 km. long boardwalk. Apartment very clean, adequate furnishings. Minuses: 1) temperamental TV remotes (nice neighbor assisted) 2) Office not manned, at least on my weekend; perhaps because mostly long-term residents?
