A unique location high in the gorge which leads to the Simplon Pass. It's an ancient castle which has been repurposed as a traveller's hotel. The rooms are clean and modern with all the facilities you would expect. There is a bar and restaurant. There's also a museum explaining the history of the village which includes gold mining in tunnels deep inside the mountain.

Where to start? The place is a little island of peace and quietness in the middle of a forrest. At the same time, it is extremely close to the village (15 minutes walking distance). In addition, there is a private transport service organised by the hotel, which was extremely convenient for skiing. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and professional. They go the extra mile to make your stay nothing less than perfect, and do so while creating a very personal atmosphere. There is a restaurant in the hotel, which offers a very good selection of local and European dishes, and the wine selection is exquisite. Even though the rating of the WiFi on this website is a bit lower, the hotel fixed this convincingly by providing you with a wifi receiver to take to the room. This fully solved any issue that might have been there in the past, since the wireless internet worked perfectly.

Capra at Saas Fee is a fantastic hotel. The staff, food and service are exceptional. Being a boutique hotel our stay at every touch point was noticed and customised to suit our needs best. We loved everything about this hotel. There’s so much to share but in brief, it’s just a 2 minute walk from the train station yet so quiet overnight. There are plenty of bars and restaurants in the area but more importantly the hotel is probably the best we’ve ever stayed in. There is a history to this hotel, clearly linked to London and the great granddaughter’s of the original owner are still there running things. The food / breakfast was amazing. Very fresh and nothing was packaged. They trust those staying to serve themselves to the snacks, beer and wine in the evening and note down what you’ve taken and they honestly could not do enough for you. The decor was lovely with a hint of London times, old and new. We would highly recommend this hotel!

Great location. easy pre check in. Arrived earlier than check in time and (early in the season ) we were able to deposit our bags and use of the room . Later in the busy ski season might not be possible. ( not sure ) Staffs are genuinely caring and making you feel welcomed. Rooms are spacious and cozy. View to nature and Saas Fee. Easy reach to restaurants and walking paths. Coffee and tea facilities in the room . Breakfast is self served and enough, coffee is delicious Missed the indoor slippers but otherwise room and bathroom are fully equipped . Would stay again.
