Whether you’re climbing the iconic El Peñol rock for panoramic vistas, strolling through the vibrant streets adorned with ornate zócalos, or gliding across the serene lake on a boat tour, every moment in Guatapé is infused with charm. It’s a place that invites you to slow down, soak in the scenery, and feel genuinely connected to nature and local life. However, the only negative to say is that many roads are not paved, which is due to the government's and private conflicts, for such a tourist area is a shame to see that. Super great local lake getaway vibes. Guatape is beautiful and the food is 10/10. It’s the complete opposite of the city though so it depends on what vibe you are looking for. I definitely would recommend staying at the Brown’s if you are spending a night or two in Guatape. Nice cabins (just like in the pictures), friendly staff, room service for any meal you want to have in your room. We had the family cabin with two separate rooms and two bathrooms (which we didn’t expect). You can rent jetskis (order upfront as they bring it from somewhere else but it was there for us within 10 minutes).
