Our experience at this accommodation was terrible from start...
Our experience at this accommodation was terrible from start to finish. The staff were extremely rude, unprofessional, and aggressive. They refused to speak English, even when we asked politely, and insisted on speaking only in German with a visibly hostile attitude. When we arrived, they tried to charge us more than the price listed online. We ended up booking the room through Booking.com, where the price was half of what they initially asked us for. Even though the listing said “free parking on site,” they charged us extra for it anyway. The room itself was a disaster — dirty, old, smelly, and clearly not maintained. When we tried to take a shower after a long day, we discovered there was no hot water. We went to reception to ask for help, and again, the receptionist refused to speak English. Eventually, he claimed the entire building had plumbing issues. However, minutes later, he said he could give us another room with hot water — clearly contradicting his earlier excuse. We waited for him to show us the new room, but he just left us standing there. When we asked again, he started shouting in German and refused to help us any further. In the end, we had no choice but to take cold showers and go to bed extremely disappointed. We tried to report the issue through Booking.com, but unfortunately received no response. This place was truly a nightmare, and I would strongly advise others to avoid it at all costs.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

We chose this as it was halfway on a much longer journey, and the photos of the town looked nice, but we were in the end very glad that we did. We only saw some of the place, but the centre is full of lovely buildings, churches and towers, and we really enjoyed walking around. A beautiful castle, one of its kind, with an excellent museum inside. Several other museums, and several art galleries. Plenty of family friendly parks. AND the beautiful Main River with parks/walk-paths along both sides. Affordable variety of restaurants/beer gardens/wine stube everywhere. A very pretty town, not extremely busy or bustling. People were very nice and kind. Could use it as a base to visit other places in Germany eg Heidelburg, Cologne, Munich because of good train links. Lots of bakeries and small restaurants serving German food. Has McDonalds for kids. Had a Pandora store. Two supermarkets close together - Edeka and Aldi. A pleasant town on the banks of the Main river with some lovely old winding streets and buildings. It also has a very large and modern shopping gallery located almost in the centre of town. It is not a hotel where I would spend our family holidays but for a short stay it is perfect. You find everything you need there. Wi-fi works very well. Drinks and (junk) food distributors are at the reception. It is right next to the train station (and still absolutely quiet in the rooms once you have closed the window). The center of Aschaffenburg is 5 minutes walking distance. Plus, a supermarkets are just across the street. Free parking is behind the building. Very nice breakfast.Guest review byKamilaBelgium
