Old fashioned quality German rooms, updated with en-suite bathrooms, right on the main square. There’s certainly no better location in Noerdlingen, and it is also a really good bakery/cafe, also serving light lunches. I was apprehensive at booking as I’m a light sleeper and the church bells are right next door (climb the tower, right opposite the cafe, to be by the bells at noon!), but they don’t ring during the night (start at 6:00, which was fine by me!).

A fantastic medieval town worth a day or two!

A fantastic medieval town worth a day or two! Walk the fully preserved town wall for a unique perspective, climb the Daniel Tower for stunning views, and visit the impressive cathedral. Don’t miss the asteroid museum to learn about the town’s impact crater origins. From March to October, the train museum near the station is a great attraction. And fun fact—it’s the hometown of a legendary football player. Guess who?

Nördlingen is very much like Rothenburg o.d.

Nördlingen is very much like Rothenburg o.d. Tauber but not so heavily commercial. It is a very nice town to walk in. Our daily wants/needs were fulfilled easily by the local shops and restaurants. We never encountered any resident on the street that seemed unfriendly are rushed by when I asked a question (in German). Nördlingen is a very nice little town to visit. Brian B.

It is an interesting town but not as pretty as Dinkelsbul or...

It is an interesting town but not as pretty as Dinkelsbul or as olde-worlde as Rothenburg. The buildings here are larger, and the main selling point is that its walls are complete and you can walk all the way around. There are also some good museums, one about the city walls and one about the meteorite that landed here. The latter is all in German but they were able to lend us a tablet with English translations. We stayed 2 nights but one would probably have been enough.

Noerdlingen is a wonderful old city with a complete wall...

Noerdlingen is a wonderful old city with a complete wall that you can walk around. From the cathedral tower you can see the rim of the Ries meteor crater that the city is in. The agent in the city's tourist information office was very helpful.

Not too touristy, but plenty for tourists to do.

Not too touristy, but plenty for tourists to do. Beautiful old German city with an intact city wall and gates! You can climb the tall church tower and see to the edge of the crater (weather permitting). Check out the crater museum or the city museum or the wall/tower museum. Walk on the old city wall. Take a day-trip to Dachau or Burg Harburg (large old castle). Rent e-bikes and go for a ride. Grocery store and several bakeries in the center of town. Lots of restaurants.

The complete city wall was fun to explore.

The complete city wall was fun to explore. We ascended the 350 steps of the church tower in the center of the town for a terrific view of the town and surrounding area. The town is cute and a good choice for a stop along the Romantic Road.

This hotel is very well located, close to the centre of the old town. Although checkin time was 3.00 pm, we arrived a bit early but were allowed access to the room. This was particularly appreciated as we were travelling by bike and it had been a rainy day. Our room (listed as a quadruple) was of a good size with two separate room, with separate bathroom and toilet. Breakfast was the usual continental style but was adequate. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

It has a fun space theme and had lots of games for kids in lobby area. but that’s what made us realize it was a very kid friendly hotel. We were there during some sort of family convention with lots of kids. This is great for families the rooms were super cool for kids too Oh and I think there was a petting farm with a few animals? Maybe rabbits? Looked like fun!

Breakfast was really good, there was enough choice. The hotel was at a walking distance of 5 minutes of the centre of the city centre. There were enoug parking spaces in front of the hotel. Staff was really helpful. They offered coffee at arrival and helped me find a car repair shop. So all in all great service.
