Plenty of opportunity to shop, although is seems this time of year, late September, things are slowing down and not every place is open. A little gem- the inner city and castle untouched by all the wars- it has changed a lot cosmetically since the reunification of Germany - but it's charm has remained. Quite walkable- the only challenging part being the sometimes steep stroll up to the castle. Quedlinburg is a delightful town, with lovely buildings, great cafes and restaurants, and good shopping. Castle, senf (mustard) shop, and walking tour of the old town were very nice. Location was very good with walking access to restaurants, museums, beautiful half timber buildings, churches, etc. Bed rooms were spacious, also large family room meeting area, full kitchen and large bath room. A short walk.from the railway station, and extremely close to the Old Town and central plaza. There is so much to look at, and appreciate, in this beautiful town of Quedlinburg. The apartment is fully equipped with modern fittings, plus it has traditional features such a timber beam ceiling for authenticity. We were greeted by a helpful gentleman at the on-site reception. It has a small private car park but a slot can be booked in advance. Our room was lovely and spotlessly clean and the breakfast buffet in the morning tasty and varied. We particularly appreciated the possibility of enjoying a free warm drink during the day and a glass of liqueur in the evening by the reception desk.
