Plenty of opportunity to shop, although is seems this time of year, late September, things are slowing down and not every place is open. A little gem- the inner city and castle untouched by all the wars- it has changed a lot cosmetically since the reunification of Germany - but it's charm has remained. Quite walkable- the only challenging part being the sometimes steep stroll up to the castle. Quedlinburg is a delightful town, with lovely buildings, great cafes and restaurants, and good shopping. Castle, senf (mustard) shop, and walking tour of the old town were very nice. Location was very good with walking access to restaurants, museums, beautiful half timber buildings, churches, etc. Bed rooms were spacious, also large family room meeting area, full kitchen and large bath room. The breakfast was adequate and we never had to wait for a table. We were near the end of an 18 day tour and were able to have laundry done. Almost all the hotels are a long way from the station but, like this one, only a short walk to the centre of UNESCO Quedlinburg.
