This is a wonderful hotel in a quiet location with the most amazing views of the surrounding mountains. We flew into Salzburg and hired a car to drive the 20 minutes to the hotel. The drive was easy and the views were stunning. The hotel is walking distance to Freilassing train station too. The location was perfect for driving through the mountains to visit Berchtesgaden, the Eagle's Nest and Lake Koniggsee, all of which we saw in 1 day. We were given a very warm welcome on arrival and were informed that the restaurant was still open for dinner. The restaurant needs it's own review because it was one of the best meals we had on our trip! The room was the biggest and most functional room we had throughout Europe. There was loads of storage, a nice hot shower of a decent size and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was included with the room and had the most amazing variety on offer.

A small, lovely place for walks. Only 5 km from Freilassing.

A small, lovely place for walks. Only 5 km from Freilassing. There are also buses, but I don't know how often. Very easy to reach by car. Freilassing is a good shopping town.

A very pleasant rural region with many small towns nearby...

A very pleasant rural region with many small towns nearby that are worth a quick stop to visit. Very easy to get to Austria (Salzburg, Königssee, Eagle's Nest, etc.). Close to Munich. I recommend spending a few days in Munich and visiting nearby places, then going to Saaldorf and exploring the region.

Everything was perfect. The room was big and cosy and had everything we needed, even a fridge. The host left bottles of water and some candies for us. Breakfast was really delicious, with everything you could possibly want to eat for breakfast. The staff was really kind and polite. I liked how everything is very modern in the hotel, but still has the real bavarian style with wooden floors and furniture, I just loved it! Location is perfect as well, just 25 minutes to Salzburg by car, but the surroundings are very nice as well.

Before I stayed at this hotel, I read some negative reviews about the breakfast. For me, it was completely satisfactory, there is definitely nothing to criticize within the given category. All fresh, good and tasty. Only vegetables were missing.. Yes, this is a not new hotel, but for me as a motorbiker it was absolutely satisfactory stay. Easy check-in, check out, you can arrive whenever you wish, room is small but ok, easy parking, if you look for fancy stuff, go somewhere else..
