Best stay I think I've ever had. Very clean, great for walking to restaurants and sights, and the staff was truly amazing. I loved being able to have a bonfire the second night when weather was dry, having the living space separate from the bedroom was good when I woke up before my friend, and walking around the castle grounds was so unique.

The area around the river was very pretty, with the two castles almost side by side. Very lucky with sunshine and blue sky. After an initially disappointing accommodation experience, we found a very nice hotel (Hotel Inger). Clean, modern, great staff and reasonably priced with on site parking.

I do not know any other town, where you can see two medieval castles in good condition from two different countries watching each other over the river. Nice promenade. Bastion Viktoria. Kaar cafe. Fabulous view of the river from Ranna Resto terrace.

Narva is a mix of several unique historical places (castle, town hall, Krenholm manufactory) and grim Soviet concrete architecture. The promenade by the river deserves special attention, you can see another castle on Russian side and an endless string of people crossing the border on foot. There is a multi-kilometer nice sandy beach 15 kilometers from the town (in Narva-Jöesuu). You can rent bikes and tour all these places in a few days. Not a lot good places for eat, but Rimi's ready-to-eat food is ok. Note you must book Krenholm manufactory visit in advance at castle's museum.

Narva castle and Lutheran church were in our must-see list. Needless to underline the Kreenholm manufacture that was a true landmark. Narva-Jõesuu is in a close range and perfect for day at the beach leaving a lot of space for everyone. Overall decent value for money considering any alternatives either in Pärnu or Southern part of Estonia.

Narva is a peaceful city, most of the city feels like a sum of apartment buildings. The entire city is easily walkable. There are multiple shopping centers and a few cafes to eat. Good place for resting, not so much for someone looking for buzzing city life.

Ivan met me a the nearby Fama bus stop as arranged and was generally helpful. The apartment is a 15 minute walk to the castle on the border, and only 30 minutes by bus to the seaside at Narva-Jōsuu. There's a shopping centre across the road. I recommend picking up a walking guide from the tourist office in the town hall. It's worth expĺoring south, as well as north, of the railway tracks - there's an alternative art gallery in building No.7 on the walking guide for one thing and many other interesting buildings beside the castle.

I traveled by car, so there were no complaints about the location. It was great that a parking tag had been left in the car, which allowed you to park for free near the hotel. The room was ascetic, but functional. The room had a fridge, microwave and kettle so you can use them for breakfast and heated food in the evening. Grocery stores were nearby, as well as restaurants. The shared bathroom also appeared to have a washing machine.

Interiordesigned appartment in Sovjet-block, most surprising. Sweet landlady+english speeking grandson. I have never seen an apparment this clean. Perfect. Ideally situated to get the feel of a Estonian-Russian city, and visit the border and castle. Parking place with owners permit in front of the house.
