We loved every bit of this experience - was reluctant to book initially as it was over what we would normally pay on accommodation, but it was worth every penny. The attention to detail of the hosts cannot be matched to anything we've experienced until now; all questions are covered before being asked, super clean and cosy, and luckily for us we also had the cottage to ourselves. We did not see the northern lights here, but sleeping under the stars remains a magical experience.

The private sauna is definitely an added value. It felt amazing after a long journey. The location is perfect if you have to catch a plane in Rovaniemi, in less than 20 minutes we were at the airport. The host was very nice, he came over in the morning to say hi. Highly recommended for couples.

Loved the location out of the city and in nature,cosy cabins with a view of the forest,beautiful walks around the property and lots of fires you can light freely and do some cooking if you like,the riverside sauna and jacuzzi was also amazing and worth doing 🙂

The location was perfect to watch a beautiful sunset and to sleep under a full moon night. We really loved walking on the frozen lake and exploring around.

Yes it’s in the middle of nowhere, but we knew that when we booked (you can see location on the map) and it was exactly what we wanted. Room was comfortable and warm, shower/sauna/toilets were all good, staff were great. breakfast was a good sized portion and tasted good. You have to get the bus/drive a while if you want to be in city or do tours etc. but there is Forrest right outside and a lake within 1km of the property and we spent our time exploring without another person in sight. We went out at night and saw the northern lights 2 out of 2 nights we were there, it’s very easy to find great spots without other people or light pollution in just a couple of minutes walk. Mini fridge and microwave available to use as well. overall great place to stay.

The property is stunning, something out of a dream, the cabins are very comfortable and warm. The Husky Safari was incredible. The owners were lovely and very accommodating. There is wood for fires, sleds, skates and snow shoes to borrow and snow boots and clothes to hire if you need.

Stunning cottage where we saw our first ever Northern Lights. Peaceful, clean, authentic, what a dream. We will miss you dearly Villa Haapala. Host was also a fantastic communicator. Thank you for providing us with the best Xmas of our lives!
