Felt immediately at home in this apartment. There's lots to do on the doorstep if you like hiking and nature, but it's also a great place to just relax and hang out. A few buses a day run between Castellar and Menton and there's a regular train service along the coast, so you don't need a car to get around. Alain and Bernard are very kind, generous hosts. The breakfast included many of her home made foods (jam, fruit juice, verveine tea) which kept us going all morning. We managed by using the local bus to Menton as we were travelling by train, but a car would be an advantage, given that there was nothing open at Castellar village.
