The apartment is spacious and located opposite the train station which was really convenient. The old town is 1km away but a flat walk. And who wants to lug their suitcase over cobblestones? The Alsace region is absolutely gorgeous, and Colmar was a great location for us to visit by train the other picture postcard villages like Eguisheim, Kaysersberg, Riquewihr and there are other villages that we didn't have the time to visit. The Ancient Old Town in Colmar didn't disappoint with all the cobbled stone streets and the jewel in the crown being "Little Venice" which looks fantastic in the daytime but even better in the evening when the lights come on.Guest review bySam CertoAustralia - 10.0

Historic Colmar is beautiful, you will find the usual tourist train that is worth using early in your trip because it gives you a feel for the whole area, covering parts you might otherwise miss and highlighting those spots you definitely want to visit in depth. Eating out is excellent with a host of bars and restaurants. While we were there a flea market was running in the Place de la Cathedrale which was typically of interest. An absolutely delightful city to visit! Stunning river views and picturesque side streets make it a joy to explore on foot. The local cuisine is fantastic and definitely worth trying. Amazing old town…We wandered and wandered, discovering new things every time. Please don’t miss the Dominican church and the wonderful altar piece by Mathias Schoene-something!!!! Would have loved a historical museum…so much to find out about the history, the winemaking, Hansi and the Battle of Colmar, but we had to sort of piece it together. Wonderfully friendly staff - you really get a sense that the hotel is a family run place and they take a real pride in their work. The room wasn’t massive, but was extremely comfortable and warm, with everything you could need. We were allowed to bring our dog, which was a huge bonus and the parking is onsite and easy to access.
