La Brigue is one of many historic villages of the French Maritime Alps. It is small but we found it quite charming. We came here to hike, so from that perspective it was great. The mountain view from the living room and the bedroom is amazing. The village is small, so everything is within walking distance. Many wonderful hiking trails start from La Brigue (ask the tourism office for advice). Although the host is not physically present, he's responsive via emails and the check-in instruction is very clear. The hotel did arrange altetnative accomodation for us in two different hotels for the two different nights. Both of the alternative hotels were of a poor standard but were the only other hotels in La Brigue.
