If I could give this hotel 6 stars out of 5, I would! It was wonderful. The room (suite) was enormous. It had large windows on all sides overlooking the beautiful estate. The renovations were recent and extremely well done. The bathroom was large, clean, and with fantastic water pressure. Great shower! The staff were welcoming and very helpful. There were massage and spa facilities, so I wished we had stayed longer. The breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious. The location was stunning, a few kilometres from Bayeux in a tiny village on a country property, that you could walk around. I absolutely loved this hotel and hope that I will be able to visit again.

The location of Villa Lara was perfect! There were several restaurants and historic landmarks within easy walking distance. The staff was incredible. The owner took us on a tour of the city which was the highlight of our trip. The hotel is also in a perfect location to meet tour companies for the Normandy WWII tours. Outstanding stay!

We LOVED everything about this lovely hotel; it was like staying in a mini Royal Castle hiding on the side of a street. The people who own it, and the staff couldn't have been NICER and ACCOMODATING for all our needs. I would come back to Bayeux for another week and stay there again. They have the cutest dog GLORIA who greeted us everytime we came in, and made our stay so special! We learned about the history of the hotel, the town, and I CAN'T THANK THE STAFF FOR MAKING OUR TRIP AMAZING!!!!! The hotel has quaint Antique European charm, and a backyard that is equally charming.

    Our friendly host spoke limited English, but enough for us to communicate. Everything that we needed was provided. A lovely, quiet, rural setting. Adequate internet access in some rooms, a bit limited in other rooms. Perfect location for exploring the Normandy beaches, Bayeux, Caen and further afield. Rapid access to the autoroute, yet 5 minutes from the coast and a good supermarket. Perfect.

    If you are visiting the beaches of Normandy this is a great place to stay. It’s close to Omaha beach so basically right in the middle. It’s also very close to Port en Bisson which is a picturesque little fishing village with numerous restaurants. The owners are an awsome young couple that cannot do enough to make your stay comfortable and make you feel welcome.

    Thank you very much to the two owners/hosts for a lovely stay. We very much enjoyed it, beautiful surroundings, very nice room, and the breakfast is a chapter of its own. The hosts are very much committed to do their very best for the guests. Highly recommendable 😀
