I loved the whole scene of the reception and bar being the same place. The staff were good to me, organising a taxi to collect me even though Beyonce was playing that night and everyone was busy. It felt so safe and relaxed in comparison to the centre of Marseilles. The pool was lovely and the room was lovely. They found me something to eat, when I tried the restaurant although they don't have vegan options on the menu and they brilliantly translated and ordered vegan Uber Eats for me on the other night I was there and found suitable crisps at the bar for me twice and free orange juice and water. It felt really friendly and I tried to extend my stay but they were full. It is a twenty minute walk to the Le Pointe Rouge beach and there is an amazing ice-cream and sorbet bar there to greet you. The beach was lovely to swim.

Marseille is a great place to visit.

Marseille is a great place to visit. Amazing restaurants and cute neighborhoods. It’s gritty but truly beautiful. One of our favorite restaurants was La Ferme for seafood. You can take a petit train up to Notre Dame and just walking around is great.

Only stayed one day and night but the old town and port area are great places to wander and eat. The Cathedral and Museum of Civilizations area is good to wander around. Notre Dame de la Garde was closed for visits early on Sundays for Mass. Missed that one but had seen it previously.

Hop-on/Hop-off Sightseeing tour well worth the money - especially if only staying 2/3 days. Lots of beggars/ vagrants - felt safe walking around Old Port at night but stayed away from back streets,

Marseille is a beautiful city with lots to do and see.

Marseille is a beautiful city with lots to do and see. Rich on history and culture. Sometimes it’s taunting to climb all the stairs and hills- but - worth it! Great local and international cuisine. The Calanques are stunning ! The city card is a great deal for sightseers.

Marseille is an exciting city with many faces.

Marseille is an exciting city with many faces. After visiting museums in the city center, it is worth taking a boat trip. Take a boat trip to the island of If, the island of Friuli, or one of the Calanques. It is also worth hiking in the Calanque National Park and running along the extra-long and beautiful seaside promenade. The seaside restaurant or the Triskell Breton crêperie are also not to be missed.

lots of good cafe & resturant and most of them are very reasonble priced. Cruises are good except that the guide only speaks in French. most of the exhibitions in the museum only written in French too. it is depressing to see the homeless with the children sleeping on the street.

The apartment was really nice, sunny and big. It had everything you needed and it was near Vieux Port, an near shops and restaurants. It was quiet because it was facing a garden. For those of you worried about Marseille (as I was), you shouldn’t be. We stayed in Avignon for 3 nights before Marseille and there were more strange and homeless people in Avignon than here. We only walked in Marseille, to the beach, to Notre Dame de la Garde, to Longchamps and we had no problems.

Residhome Marseille was a great hotel to stay for the 3 nights in Marseille. It's newly renovated, clean, good location and the staff were very kind and helpful. Nicole was especially warm and caring. We were pleasantly surprised with a basket filled with goodies and a bottle of champagne as they knew we were celebrating our wedding anniversary that weekend. The best thing in this hotel is location. It's 150m from Vieux Port, it's restaurants and bars. The building is old (as anything around it). The people running the place were helpful and nice to talk. In order to learn about Marseille or french way of life. The breakfast was a quality one in size and taste, compared to ones we wanted to experience also in Vieux Port cafes.

Our room (suite - it included an extra single bedroom which was really useful for reorganising the contents of our suitcases) had a balcony and wonderful views across Marseilles Vieux Port. The hotel was in an excellent location for bars and restaurants overlooking the water too.

The location is absolutely marvelous, and the hotel is beautiful, including the rooms. All necessary amenities are there, the view from my room was stunning - overlooking le Vieux Port and the staff was extremely nice and welcoming. I will gladly come back here!
