We were greeted by a friendly host. The room and accommodation were beyond expectations. The entire house is exceptionally well-furnished and it is clear that the host pays great attention to detail. The breakfast was home-made and freshly prepared. An exceptional homeliness and atmosphere reign throughout the accommodation. We are very satisfied and would definitely stay for another day if we were not traveling on.

Celeste is the most welcoming, attentive, friendly host. She went above and beyond ensuring my family & I were comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay, even removing a tic my 5 year old had picked up on our day trip when I was in panic mode! The house was beautiful, well equipped and comfortable. It had everything we needed to ensure our trip was straitforward. The surrounding areas are tranquil and perfect for a relaxing escape. The swimming pool was a huge hit with the children and grown ups alike, proving the perfect way to cool down at the end of the day! We will 100% be back!

Absolutely charming chambre d’hôte. We felt we were in heaven being looked after by two angels. Comfy, plush beds, charming buildings, exceptional breakfast with the most delicious home made delicacies. But the best bit was the incredible welcome and kindness by the hosts. Bunnys, ducks, cows, chickens, Lustig, the huge dog. The kitchenware was phenomenal quality. Location - nature, walks, farm animals. The hosts are very nice and communicative, we managed to chat even without a common language. Complimentary apple juice and blackberry jam. Proper cotton bedding. No plastic sheets.

We arrived in driving rain from the Caen ferry and were delighted to be welcomed by our host Angela (also known as Sue) who made sure we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay including warm rooms and a generous welcome basket of goodies to settle us in. She is the perfect host - there if you need anything, but not intrusive. Nothing is too much trouble. The gite is as it appears in the photos with a downstairs well equipped kitchen and upstairs a cosy bedroom, sitting room and shower room. Everything was spotlessly clean, the bed was extremely comfortable with excellent quality linens and there was a plentiful supply of hot water for the shower. The WiFi signal is excellent. The provision of upstairs and downstairs kettles and mugs was greatly appreciated, for that all important early morning cup of tea! The outside seating area was a great place to enjoy breakfast when the sun came out for us. We stayed for 10 days and found it a great place to relax and really unwind. There are excellent walks locally and some lovely towns and villages in under an hour's drive. The famous attractions (Mont St Michel, D-day landing beaches etc) are within about a 90 min drive. The local is very rural and the only noises at night are natural ones. We really couldn't have asked for anything more. We would love to come back. The gite is about 5 min by car from the nearest village for the basics and about 15 min from St Hilaire for the full range of supermarkets, shops, some excellent restaurants (try L'Ardoise opposite the church), a Wednesday market and a tourist office.

We had a wonderful time here! The place feels very homey and comfortable. The hosts are incredibly friendly and speak English, which made communication easy. It's a very quiet location — perfect if you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Breakfast was included in the price, it was simple, but a lovely start to the day. We really enjoyed our stay here! Highly recommended for a peaceful retreat!

Our second stay was delightful. The gite is set in a lovely storybook setting, in a peaceful village. There is good food and drink a few steps away in a friendly atmosphere. The property owner was so helpful and knowledgeable with suggestions on local activities and events. She made our stay so enjoyable, we felt so very welcome. There a many interesting sights nearby, waterfalls, medieval villages, battle sights and more. We hope to go back a third time in the near future.

    It was the quiet, remote and located exactly right to explore the places we wanted to. Great value for money and made to feel very welcome. Our room was large, clean and the bed was very comfortable. We ate well and slept well, we left feeling far more relaxed than when we arrived. Loved it.

    The host is so friendly. You feel very welcome. The breakfast was all homemade and was such a lovely personal touch. It was really a wonderful experience chatting with her at breakfast. The location is beautiful and great thought had been given to the decoration of the room.
