We stop in Nuits St Georges on drives from UK to South of France. Its perfectly mid way, great location from the motorway and has plenty to offer. The town center has been updated since our last trip and the mix of traditional architecture and modern stone and fountains in the center of town work well together. There are a number of bars and we sat at a really great bar with a fabulous vibe drinking great draught beer and people watching. After the long drive from Calais to Nuits St George we decided to skip a restaurant and hit the local Carrefour supermarket for wine and picnic items, but, in the past we've eaten at local restaurants and there are plenty to chose from. First visit and driving around the vineyards at picking time was an unexpected delight. From Beaune to beyond Gevrey was just lovely. Good choices for eating in Nuits-Saint-Georges and the Saturday market and Hopital de Dieu in Beaune was an added bonus.Guest review byMINERVAUnited Kingdom - 6.0

The code to access the door didn't work on our late night arrival which was frustrating, the staff member did arrive fairly promptly but it took time to check us in as our booking hadn't registered on the system correctly. Nice scenery and pleasant. Locals are friendly and helpful. Most things are within walking distance but it would be a necessity if one wants to explore nearby wine properties. Ideal for wine lovers. I had confirmed with the hotel the code needed to get in but it didn’t work. I had to call an emergency number, they gave a different code and it still didn’t work. In the end someone had to come to the hotel and because we had booked 2 rooms it would never have gone through as payment was too much!
