A must visit for anyone seriously interested in Bordeaux wines, but obviously the area is rich in historical significance with stunning vistas. A bit touristy in some respects, but people are drawn to the area for obvious reasons. Absolutely beautiful village and lived up to hype. The monolithic church and the Cloisters were orth the visit. Some great caves (cellars) are located on the edge of the village and are usually happy for you to visit and taste some sensational wines. Saint Emilion is a beautiful medieval village well worth visiting particularly if you are interested in wine and visiting vineyards. The people are friendly and welcoming. I would recommend a visit to St. Emilion to anyone even if not interested in wine. The village is easily walked. Some Chateaux are within walking distance as well. Clear instructions, easy check-in, pleasant and roomy bedroom, comfortable bed, good shower, outdoor space overlooking the vines. Hot outside but the thick stone walls meant a cool room. The complex is beautiful, and incredibly well appointed. The staff were so helpful and couldn’t do enough for us to make sure our stay was perfect. Both the breakfast and the cheese board we ordered one evening were also brilliant. The grounds are stunning, as are the views from the apartment across the vineyards to Saint-Emilion.
