Thiers didn't strike me as a normal place for tourists, it...
Thiers didn't strike me as a normal place for tourists, it is a standard home town but we found the residents very kind and friendly, helping us along when our somewhat limited French language skills let us down! We were lucky to experience a local music festival with a mix of bands on, stalls selling food and artisan-made goods, etc. - a really enjoyable night out. We noticed several restaurants but due to the festival we ate at various street stalls and bars. Thiers may not be suitable for those with mobility issues as it is very hilly; the street we stayed on had stepped pavements.
