This is a superb hotel in the middle of Burgundy. We got a magnificent room in this very beautiful restored building. The small brasserie 'Botica', adjacent to the hotel, is partially run by disabled people and the profits also go to their organisation. It has a beautiful garden terrace bordering the Armançon river, next to the Burgundy Canal. This place is a real gem.

In a very quiet little village, off the beaten track. The owners were welcoming and made space for my motorbike under cover in the gated driveway. The house is practically a castle, with guest rooms up a stone spiral staircase: obviously on ascent one considers oneself a knight heading to rest after a long day on horseback!

Right next to the cycle path (Tour de Bourgogne). A good evening meal & decent breakfast (scrambled egg was delicious). Air conditioned bedroom & heated towel rail in bathroom (very useful on a cycling trip). Able to check in to your room from early afternoon.

The apartment was absolutely brilliant, really clean, comfortable, and beautifully equipped, the bed is the most comfortable iv ever slept in! Tonnerre is a gem, a diamond in the rough. It has stunning views and the Fosse Dionne (A Hydro vent.) is definitely worth a visit, as is the many churches in this gorgeous ancient town.
