It is nowhere as much fun as 20 years ago.
It is nowhere as much fun as 20 years ago. The city centre is dreadful really, Union Street had great shops, now a bit of a backwater town. There are tedious shopping centers with parking, but nothing special. The new gardens are worse than the beautiful old gardens which is criminal. Duthie Park is a good perambulation on a sunny morning, the art gallery and maritime museum are great. Night-time in the city centre is for the young, the drunk and low level criminality, best avoided for any culture or quality. There are a few music venues and a pleasant theatre with contemporary shows. The P&J TECA center is miles away from the city centre and not much fun in general to get to and from. Abredeen is not on the usual list of tourist places to visit. But it is a good place to meet some real Scotland. And like all places it has it's own particular history which is always interesting. The day drive up the coast is nice too with seals, castles etc.Guest review byLesAustralia - 8.0

Been a few times to Aberdeen as this is where our son lives. Plenty variety of eating places and pubs etc . We were there one night as we were there for a specific show at the time in the Aberdeen Music Hall. I was only there three days on business and didn't get much time to look around which is a shame as I think Aberdeen has a lot to see and a lot of history. I was looking for a good restaurant but all I seemed to find in the town was fast food and takeaways. What did stand out was the cleanliness of the place, no litter and rubbish on the streets.
