I enjoyed our autumn hikes both close to the lodge and further away in the national park. Fall foliage was gorgeous and great October weather. Our favorite meal in Aviemore was at Delaney's, a nice restaurant on the opposite end of town from the lodge. Though we have a rental car, we walked to restaurants and used the car for short trips to more hiking and to nearby villages. I particularly enjoyed a visit to Nethy Bridge and a charming restaurant, the Nethy House Cafe. If I ever return to the area, I would consider using that town as a base just as an alternative.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

We've stayed at the hotel before. Places within easy reach are Corrieshalloch Gorge, Inverness, Fort George, Brodie Castle, Culloden Battlefield, Ruthven Barracks, Loch Garten, Cairngorm mountain railway, the Highland village at Newtonmore, Landmark Forest adventure Park and the Highland wildlife park an Kincraig. I love this neck of the woods.
I love this neck of the woods. Plenty to do if you are an outdoors person or just want a break from busy places. It is a nice laid back location where there is a lot less hassle. Lots of nice food places - either restaurants or take-aways and plenty of shops where you could buy your own food if you don't want to go out. Highly recommended.
