FAQs about hotels in Blackpool

Beside the Seaside, Beside the Sea

A favoured holiday spot since the Victorian era, Blackpool is a traditional English seaside town. Amusement arcades and crazy golf courses line the promenade and dotted between them are plenty of places to pick up fresh fish ‘n’ chips and Blackpool rock.

On the 5-mile sandy beach, children can enjoy Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides. Old-fashioned entertainment at its best. At the other end of the scale is the Blackpool Pleasure Beach, a fairground complex comprising a variety of rides, including The Big One - once the world’s tallest and steepest rollercoaster. They actually had to get permission from nearby Blackpool Airport to erect it!

More seaside pursuits are on the town’s 3 piers, one of which is Grade II listed. However, the most recognisable landmark is the Blackpool Tower which houses a circus, 4D cinema and a world-renowned ballroom, to name a few. Modelled on the Eiffel Tower, it is spectacularly lit during the annual Blackpool Illuminations, when the whole town is bathed in bright lights. The trams plying the prom are also lit. Look out for the one shaped like a ship.

A popular stag and hen do destination, Blackpool offers accommodation ranging from North Shore hotels to South Shore B&Bs - see Booking.com for the best choice.

    Good location cheap drinks.

Good location cheap drinks. Very small rooms bed not really big enough for anyone bigger than 6ft. We asked for an extra towel and didn’t get it. Personally what I paid for the room didn’t seem right for the room. Didn’t get much sleep as the room kept shaking from the volume of the speakers. Won’t personally be staying again but will always support the acts and entertainment and come for drinks when I’m in Blackpool.

Blackpool, a legendary but kind of declining coast city like many others in UK. The difference are the unique amenities they offer: Blackpool tower, a coast tram lime, heritage trams, illuminations...at least once in a lifetime worth a visit

A bus pass costs £23 per week and you can you use this to travel around Blackpool. Apart from Sainsburys, I couldn't find any large supermarket stores in the centre of Blackpool. However, I did use my bus pass to travel to LIDL just outside the centre of Blackpool.

Been sometime since last visit to Blackpool and changes to promenade now completed and what a difference. Still needs improvements to back streets as some streets very run down. The amount of homeless people and beggars was a concern. Blackpool is still a family orientated attraction with loads to do for everyone and wall to wall eating places so you wont go hungry. Kids enjoyed Stanley Park, Zoo and Seaworld. Night time ideal for walks on the piers and playing amusements.

Lots of entertainment for little ones and for adults too, the beach was clean and lots of places to eat so you’d never have to stand a wait around, I did like the smaller pubs on the back streets where the karaoke bars was packed and full of friendly people. Blackpool is a really nice family place.

We stayed for one night as a family of four in Room 11. It was perfect for us, very comfortable and had everything we needed. We booked breakfast which was delicious and Fiona was such a fantastic hostess. So kind and considerate. Helped with booking the trams to get the best deal and really helped with parking the next morning. We will definitely stay at this hotel when we return to stay overnight - the grandchildren want a game of chess!
