This was a great place to stay. The staff was so friendly. Breakfast was great; we were able to have cold items plus several choices for warm breakfast items. A short walk gets you to the Abby and the shopping, area around it.

The checking in was fast, efficient. The room was great, facilities laid out well, shower powerful and hot. There was a sofa bed in the room and great as added seating. There was an iron and ironing board, and a hairdryer. The ambience was great, and welcoming. This is the best greene King I have stayed in. Very impressed. The towels were large and fluffy! Well situated for the town centre.

The property we stayed in is next to the cathedral and a few minutes walk from restaurants and bars. It’s an easy town to get around on foot but you would a sat nav to find some locations. Bury is about 10 minutes from the A14 eastbound, so travelling is straightforward We had drinks at Whitings Bar, and Sunday evening dinner at Damson and Wild which was lovely and the staff are really friendly. We didn’t have time to fit in a brewery trip but may do next time We visited Ickworth Estate which is lovely but it was a very hot day so we didn’t do the walk we planned

This is a wonderful market town.

This is a wonderful market town. It has the old part full of character and buzzing, but they have also added a new part, which is stylish and upbeat. The Abbey gardens are amazing, with the most beautiful flower arrangements on display. The people of the town are friendly and helpful. I would love to come back again soon.

The Abbey Gardens, the Abbey & the Cathedral area were very worth visiting. Enough good shops; and a healthy market. The Abbeygate cinema was pleasingly independent, with value for money. Nearby was the impressive Ickworth Estate worth a visit. Also some good plant nurseries nearby!
