Perfect place, staff very friendly, managed to prepare a little something for the kids to eat even though we arrived after the kitchen was closed. Large room, very clean and quiet. Very good value for the money .

I couldn’t fault the property really it was absolutely beautiful and very clean! Only thing I would say is maybe a separate bar from the bar restaurant! As I know it’s more of a couple escape rather than family.

    The area is quite rural and has a quiet pensive feel to it...

    The area is quite rural and has a quiet pensive feel to it but is close to a city and several towns and villages so you get the best of both worlds. There is a fantastic fairy park for kids close by at Slieve Gullion. Just over the border at Strandfields (opposite Ballymascanlon hotel entrance) is a fantastic vegetarian cafe and garden centre - the food is amazing.
