Combe Martin was the perfect place to have our 3 night stay. We liked quieter places in the village and exploring the little roads with their lovely houses and cottages. We loved the amazing sunset from Combe Martin Beach on our first night. Everyone we met there were very friendly and welcoming.We enjoyed the beaches there and the amazing views. It was a very restful break. Having once lived in the village we were shocked.
Having once lived in the village we were shocked. We thought it was run down and in dire need of revitalising. The shops, including the coffee shops, were shut, apart from a newsagents. Even the museum was closed. We did have a good chat to a current resident who agreed with us. However, we did manage to find the grave marker for Terry Thomas. Beautiful location for energetic walking!
Beautiful location for energetic walking! Lovely eating places and a strong sense of community throughout the village. We particularly liked the Pack of Cards for evening meals and the cafe overlooking the beach for sandwiches. We had great weather for all 5 days and the beach was much used by all ages. Sheltered cove, great for SUP.
Sheltered cove, great for SUP. Low tide makes it even better for small children. People on the beach are friendly and are there to have a good time.
