The Boat Inn is somewhere in the middle of everything, if you follow the Deeside. We loved our room, big enough for two beds, which were bigger than singles. So rare anywhere in Scotland! Breakfast in the morning was ordered á la carte and fantastic, same goes for the evening meal. We stayed for dinner both nights at the restaurant of the Boat Inn. Personally I thought The Boat Inn was the best accommodation on our one week tour. Can't recommend it enough!

Fairdene Cottage was perfect. So adorable and comfortable. I was able to visit Balmoral and also the Ballater train station with a replica of Queen Victoria's train carriage. I loved everything about the cottage and its location.

Ballater Hostel is an amazing place. Located in the beautiful and tranquil village of Ballater, it's a great place to stay. Dominique is really kind and will give you the best suggestions for trips, hikes, and food. She is always ready to help guests. The beds are comfortable, the space is very clean, and the rooms have plenty of natural light. This place is truly wonderful!

Dinnet is lovely, very small village with stunning...

Dinnet is lovely, very small village with stunning countryside. A lovely place to stay particularly in summer months and to explore by walking, cycling or driving. It is very rural and use of a car advantageous to explore surrounding area, eating out etc. Access to taxis is limited although believe there are buses. Not there long enough to explore further as there for an event.

The cheerful smiley welcome.

The cheerful smiley welcome. The lack of rush and noise everywhere. The place simply did what it does very well - a warm, quiet, friendly place with pleasant rooms, an imaginative menu offering a variety of food which must suit most. people, superbly cooked and presented by jolly staff.

Everything! The cottage is really nice, loved the fireplace on chilly evenings. Kitchen has all the equipment that we needed. Yvonne was always approachable and very helpful. The area is rather quiet and a bit off from the main touristic places which we liked. Dinnet is a great spot to start gorgeous tours through the national park which is stunningly beautiful- we totally fell in love with it.

It is a traditional hotel, with an old interior. The receptionist was friendly and parking was available on site. The bathroom is well-lit. An ironing board and basic amenities were included. There's also a ground-floor balcony with table and chairs. The hotel is a 20 mins drive from Balmoral Castle which was convenient.

Location is beautiful. Lodge is well equipped and reasonably comfortable. Few facilities in Dinnet bur within easy each of Aboyne and Ballater for shopping and eating. Great base for touring the area.
