I would recommend visiting The Eglington Arms for food.
I would recommend visiting The Eglington Arms for food. There is the added benefit of a beer garden as well as restaurant dining. There is also a small tea room, the Wishing Well. Lovely hotel. Well appointed. All staff were kind, friendly and welcoming - all of them! We ate in the hotel and in the attached pub We took our dog - we was welcomed by staff. Good to find a dog-friendly hotel with an open space for walking right outside. Worth flagging though that the only place to eat with your dog is at the single coffee table area in reception. Would be better if a couple of tables just inside the restaurant area could be used by people with dogs. Good parking facilities. This is a sweet little village, very quiet . Easy to enjoy a local walk around the park or venture a few miles away to walk on the ‘Braes’ & look in awe at the gigantic wind farm .
