The hotel itself was beautiful. Personnel was helpful and nice. We enjoyed our stay here a lot! We booked quite late, but everything was ready and waiting for us. Not to mention wonderful and tasty breakfast.

Excellent service with a lovely staff, very close from the highway and to visit Stonehenge and other places in the region. Very good buffet to have breakfast. The room was very quiet and good size. Tea and coffee in the room.

We loved the rooms decor and size. We really liked the bathroom with the skylight and tub. The continental breakfast was much better than expected. It was actually pretty amazing. We loved seeing the little orange cat in the little courtyard too.

We only stayed here, in the Kennels, for one night, and certainly wish we'd had longer. It was Easter, April 9, and we chose the location for its proximity to Stonehenge where we had an evening Stone Circle entry. It was perfect for this purpose, but even more important, the setting and amenities were exceptional. Given that it was Easter, Annabel (a wonderful host) worked with us trying to find a restaurant (1) open and (2) not already totally booked. That proved impossible (our poor planning at fault here), but the copious amount of self-catering breakfast supplies she provided was more than enough to cook for our dinner and then the next morning breakfast as well. As other reviews have described, the home grown/raised/cooked provisions were amazing! The history of the Kennels and the overall property was fascinating, be sure to browse through Annabel's book depicting the renovations they did. The cottage was beautifully and thoughtfully modernized, wifi is good, shower water pressure and temperature fine, and cooking implements plentiful and well thought out. One could stay here many days in comfort to explore the local estate and this general area. Wish we'd had longer but had to move on to London to catch our flight home.

5 min from Woodhenge,13 Min Stonehenge,18 min Old Sarum,25 min from Salisbury. Dog & Gun is a cozy place to stay and enjoy while visiting these Historic places. The Staff is very attentive, friendly and inviting. They welcomed us with a bottle of fresh milk and homemade brownie, very lovely and delicious. The rooms are above the bar, we didn't have any issues with noises and if you are a light sleeper they have complimentary ear plugs in the room for your convenience. The Room was Spacious, Warm, Comfortable, Well decorated & Extremely Clean. They had an excellent breakfast and dinner menu. Delicious food with vegetarian options and very Fresh ingredients (Best Hollandaise sauce we ever had for Perfect Benedict eggs). Nice variety of Quality Alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages. The overall ambiance is relaxed, welcoming, good food, good music, well located, comfy rooms, nice people, outdoor space if you want. Definitely plan to return to what became one of our favorite places. Parking space could be limited on a really busy day.

The host was incredibly kind and welcoming, and his friendliness made us feel right at home. He went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, even taking the time to answer our unusual questions, such as recommending a nearby farm where we could interact with the animals. We were truly grateful for his hospitality and knowledge of the area.

Many places to visit within an hours drive - such as Kennet & Avon canal walks and pubs, Devizes, Avebury, various white horses, Swindon, Marlborough, Woodhenge, Stonehenge, Old Sarum, Salisbury. If you want to use the local pub in Enford, check opening times first, as it was not open every day when we visited.
