Very pleasant location.
Very pleasant location. Lovely old church and plenty of shops and cafeterias. Parking by council at top of Fowey okay but system not working leaving all of us looking for working pay machines which didn't exist. Next 24 days waiting for penalty tickets before deleting fone pics as evidence for Court appearance that hasn't happened yet. Council's in Cornwall are quick to raise bills and fines and penalties even for tourists whilst awarding themselves pay increases, pension increases whilst ignoring real issues for tourists and visitors. End result empty shops, fewer visitors to pay costs. Higher C Tax bills for shops and residents . Cornwall suffers overall. Anyone care? Nope didn't think soGuest review byEdwardUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Fowey is well situated on the river and the boat trip round the harbour is interesting. Very nice shops and interesting old pubs. Best eating places to eat were Haverners, The Lugger and The Ship. But for non car users during our stay in early September, public transport seemed to be non existent and ferry to Megavissy was not sailing the whole week because of weather, Taxis to The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project very expensive.Guest review byChristineUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Fowey is a great place in good weather if you like boats and rivers and plenty of quaint and historical sites as well as individual shops and restaurants, pubs and cafes. It has a beach and boat trips and great walking trails on the coast path and river estuary. First the smiley front of house greeting with detailed explanation of what where and how. Then shown to the amazing harbour view room with huge shower - everything was there! I could be biased by the twinkling Christmas decorations but the warmth and cosy bar/dining area made the shoulders go down. Then a delicious menu to choose from and brilliant service.
