After the arduous drive to Milovaig we were stunned by the sheer beauty of the location of Aurora Rural Retreat No. 3. You can see most of Loch Pooltiel up to the open sea while lying in bed... wonderful! The tiny cottage offers all the comfort a pair needs for a stay. We had it cozy and warm, while nothern winds howled around the edges of our small retreat. The bed was good and the shower was the best we had on our round trip so far. We definitely recommend a stay there when you're looking for a little bit of adventure while not missing anything.

A truly special place, from the moment you enter it is clear how much love has been put into the place. The attention to detail is incredible and we loved every minute here. The place is a bit off the beaten track and such a calm contrast to Skye, which can be quite bustling with tourists. We were lucky enough to have to nights of fantastic sunsets and clear skies with tons of stars visible, conveniently from the comfort of our couch. Everything was very clean and in great shape, and it was a nice change of pace to be able to have a continental breakfast in our room when we wanted, and not have to stick to a predetermined time.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin, it has large spaces (big living room with open kitchen well equiped and the room is also spacious). The view of the loch and the terrace has been well appreciated! It was well located in a quiet area, not far away from Dunvegan Castle or the Neist Point Lightouse. I recommend at 100%!

    Quiet, beautiful, idyllic village far from the touristy...

    Quiet, beautiful, idyllic village far from the touristy places but with plenty to do. Be prepared to drive at least a few miles of single-track roads for anything, and the nearest convenience store is all the way in Dunvegan! Stein, the next village, has some really good restaurants (Loch Bay is I think the only Michelin Starred restaurant in all of Skye. Stein Inn was very good as well). There are boat trips from nearby as well. The village is so quiet we managed to get great views of the night sky and the meteor shower - something we weren't even expecting!
