Great location in the center of beautiful Grasmere village. Quiet with some ground around it. Huge comfortable and well equipped rooms. Dedicated parking spots. Great base for starting walks or for going to restaurants and bars in the town. Good breakfast, complimentary scones’n’cream, very helpful staff.

Very cosy room (303) even had a little balcony. Breaky was delicious with plenty of self serve items and the a cooked breakfast of your choice. Restaurant food was pretty good as well. Fabulous lounge area with so many chesterfield lounges. Beautiful village

This was such a perfect hotel to stay in. The lovely little balcony with a view of the stream. The room was spacious, the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast provided was excellent. It was also very easy to visit nearby towns and access to local walks.

The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the village. The room was excellent. The toiletries provided were of high quality and had a pleasant aroma. The hot tub was a great way to unwind and relax. The food at the restaurant was delicious. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this hotel to others.

Welcoming and warm, this hotel is a historic treasure just down the street from the bookshop. The room was comfortable and homelike. The food is excellent, I ate breakfast and dinner all three nights I was there. Beautiful garden out back right in the River Rothy. I loved this place!

    I've been visiting Grasmere for many years. It's a beautiful village but is is sad too see so many premises vacant and some of the old buildings derelict. some of the Hotels have closed as well.

    Grasmere is like nowhere else - it’s absolutely stunning and has a tranquil feel to it that just makes you feel so relaxed and content when you’re there. Plenty of walks, scenery, cafes, restaurants, a decent pub and lots of beautiful hotels to choose from. The gingerbread shop is gorgeous! There’s so much to see here. I can’t imagine anyone not liking Grasmere! Simply beautiful.

    The area has lovely views and varied shops and restaurants in the village. There is a bus service to Windemere and Keswick. A garden centre is nearby with a café. We dined at Lewis's bistro which was lovley.

    Grasmere is one of the prettiest villages in The Lake District and is an idyllic place if you are lucky with the weather. There are interesting tourist attractions nearby as well as excellent mountain walking options. The resort benefits from a very good bus service, which gives additional options in nearby places so you can get out and about without using a car. Travel to Grasmere by train and bus is perfectly feasible so you do not need a car.

    Grasmere is very centrally located, so easy access to the other popular tourist area within the Lake District. And access to popular walks. It’s also has historical interests with the poet Wordsworth.

    Very busy place during the day.

    Very busy place during the day. There is a ginger bread shop by the church that has William Wordsworth's grave. This must be the busiest shop in Britain. From around 9.30 till 4.30 there is a queue. If you think I exagerate, go visit, and happy waiting. Some nice galleries, cafes and restaurants. All accomodation in Grasmere looks high end. Lovely scenery and walks. Once day trippers have left, place calms down and becomes more relaxed.

    The hotel is in a fantastic location in the centre of Grasmere with the amenities of the village on your doorstep. I stayed in the Herries room, a single room on the top floor, with a bird's eye view of the back garden. I stayed for two nights on 22 and 23 August 2025 and was lucky to have fine summer weather! The Herries room was well appointed with all the items for a comfortable stay. The breakfasts were first class. I dined in the hotel restaurant on both evenings and the cuisine was exceptional.

    This is a beautiful hotel in the gorgeous village of Grasmere. We’re so glad we chose to stay here. The room was lovely, large and very comfortable. We loved the window looking out onto the stream, so soothing. We also loved the breakfasts and the yummy scones available all day free to guests. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Thank you

    The hotel is perfectly located in the middle of Grasmere (which is a delightful little town). The staff are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful, including great advice about the town. The room was gorgeous and spacious, and felt very luxurious. Breakfast was an incredible spread as well!
