We only stayed for one night to break up our journey from Ireland to where we live in Hertfordshire and couldn't have found a better property. We walked down to the Boathouse Hotel for something to eat which was only a 2-minute walk. The food was lovely and reasonably priced. Overall, we had a great stay and will definitely do a repeat visit.

We enjoyed wandering around the Harbour at Holyhead and then through the town and down to the Train Station and Ferry Port. We enjoyed a delicious meal in the evening at the Raj Indian Restaurant. We found the people in Holyhead friendly and helpful

Holyhead itself isn't a great place.

Holyhead itself isn't a great place. Lots of empty and scruffy building in the town centre, although the harbour area out the other side is nice with the maritime museum. The only real highlight of the town centre are the remains of the Roman fort. The surrounding area including Treaddur Bay is much better for a visit. My evening trip to South Stack was really good, including a surprise historic settlement site across the road from the car park.

Visited Short Stack. Great walk. Great food from a local fish and chips shop. The town was very walkable for basic needs. Heard there are at least two nice beaches. The people were very friendly. Several times I was asked if I needed help as I was walking.

We knew it was a hotel under refurbishment, but pleasantly surprised by the size of our room, which was to the front and had a nice view of the harbour. Still some updating to be done but bathroom was good. Staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us, especially in trying to set up the tv in the restaurant so we could watch the Euros! Food was good and everyone very chatty and welcoming. Plenty of parking and some nice little walks for the dog. Great over night stop, 5 mins from the ferry.

Easy to access and park - a good asset in Holyhead if you are staying ahead of a ferry. Nice location too for visiting that end of Angelssey. Good welcome. Good info on places to eat etc. The compact room I booked was small as expected but didn't feel compromised. We were there for an event at the Travelodge, but chose The Haven and short drive instead as the value was better.

Such a lovely and convenient place to stay when catching the ferry from Holyhead. Very pretty area with a sandy beach just a few hundred yards away. Nice surf - beach like feel to the hotel which has been recently refurbished and is clean, well presented and run well. Could not fault it !!!

Location was great for anyone catching an early morning ferry, The room was clean and the shower was better than you often find in small hotels. We didn't need to have a meal as our stay was so short but the provision of an eating area downstairs seemed a really good idea.
