What an absolute gem this cottage is, the moment I walked in I felt like I was at home. It had all the facilities you need, clean, comfortable and just feels so relaxed and homely. Great location for us getting out for walks in the local area, it also had a great pub to have a pint after your day of trekking. Myself and my daughter will definitely be booking again.

The whole experience form checking in, delicious evening snacks with a drink in the outdoor beer garden, helpful and friendly staff, great cooked breakfast right through checking out was a fantastic experience. Room was spacious and clean. Surrounding walks were lovely too.

We booked this b&b because of the rave reviews it got. It deserves all of them. It was a magical place. Great location and the inside was just beautiful! We loved the family room (comfy beds, super clean, it has everything you could possibly need). Michael was very friendly. I could have sat in the breakfast room all day… the view, the decorations.. we loved it all.

    Middleton is quite pleasant to look at and within easy reach...

    Middleton is quite pleasant to look at and within easy reach of lots of truly beautiful scenery and wonderful places to visit. However, there is not much there, not even a shop. The nearest shop we found was the co op by the garage in Wirksworth. It's fine, it just means you need to be organised with any food shopping you need to do or, in my father's case, when you are going to be able to buy your daily paper!

    Rising sun is a nice pub for food and atmosphere, service was excellent. Nearby in wirksworth the farmers market was excellent, runs first Saturday of the month. Bakery selling pies were really delicious and would buy again. The owner for the property was very responsive for any questions from myself which is what you need.
