From the moment I booked the team at Merchants Yard went above and beyond to ensure I had the best possible stay. Nothing was a problem for them, organising flowers as we were celebrating our 25th Anniversary, booking a table for dinner, offering advice on things to do near by and much much more. On check in the team were brilliant, friendly welcome and a complimentary drink (thank you). Throughout our stay the team were amazing, always happy and made sure we had everything we needed. Brilliant 👏👏

The hosts were great! I was in Youlegreave for a first aid course and needed to leave early in the morning on a Sunday. Donna was more than happy to help me out and also cooked me one the of the best full English breakfasts I've ever had! Which is also included in the room price. Also this was at 7 am in the morning which speaks a lot about these guys. Great stay, great pub, fantastic atmosphere and the live music on the Saturday was really good but also didn't disturb me whatsoever when I went to sleep around 10 pm.

Fabulous cottage. Very comfortable and characterful, beautiful location, well-equipped and much more spacious inside than it looks from the outside. There are lovely walks locally and the river Wye is just across the road. A pub a few minutes' walk away and it's just a few miles from Buxton. The supply of tea, coffee and milk in the kitchen was a nice touch.

Great self-catering accommodation. Near enough to travel into various areas. Food in the pub downstairs is excellent, so good we ate there throughout our stay in the evenings. Locals provided a great atmosphere in the pub.

Monyash is a lovely quiet place if you’re looking for a a nice chilled long weekend. It’s not too far drive from Bakewell or other nice walks around the Peak District, it has a lovely cafe / bistro, and the pub is great, large portions which taste great, and well priced drinks (sadly it was closed during our recent stay as the owners were on holiday). There are some nice walks around Monyash with a nice farm shop we usually get some Steaks from. Sadly there are no local shops, you’ll have to drive 8/9 mins to Bakewell. You can walk there in about 2/2.5 hours if you fancy a nice afternoon walk, cabs are easy to get and cheap for the return journey.

Excellent one or two person cottage in the hamlet of Monyash. Cottage has everything required for a very pleasant stay and is tucked away in a quiet location. On site parking - which is always a bonus. Monyash is small but has a pub (which was recommended but I didn't try) and a tea shop, which is open daily for walkers and cyclists. Local to Monaysh is Lathkill Dale National Nature Reserve which is well worth an explore. Other walks were signposted. Close by is Bakewell and Buxton. Lovely place - I will return.

Stunning views and a lovely Place to stay.

Stunning views and a lovely Place to stay. We stayed in an excellent cottage really nice inside and out. Great place to walk and take in the amazing views. I only had one bad thing to say about staying in monyash that i struggled to find some where to eat being a vegetarian. But all in all a great place to go if you love long walks and amazing views
