Room was very cosy and quiet and well equipped with basic essentials (hair dryer, iron, kettle etc). I have complex dietary requirements and nothing was too much trouble for the excellent chef and team. Staff were courteous and friendly. Great value for money.

Jenny and Mick were so welcoming and helpful. Breakfasts were delicious and a big treat in the beautiful conservatory looking out on the garden in full bloom. Location is perfect for walking, whether to the train station, into town, out amongst the fields or just to the historic horse packers bridge under the willows right outside. Everything is so picturesque. I had a very comfortable, relaxing stay. All spotlessly clean. Thank you very much. Highly recommend!

Perfect night away! we had such a gorgeous time, I would 100% come back and recommend it to others, it was pristine, the bed was so comfortable with pillows to die for, the hot tub with the view was absolute bliss, we had the pizza pack & was well worth it the pizza oven was lovley add on Location was ideal, nothing is too far away, The information booklet provided had everything we needed and more in very good detail Even the little details dressing gown, slippers, games, the products in the shower, aircon, list goes on 👌🏼

    Northallerton has a great selection of real ale pubs, especially the Stumble Inn. The high street has every kind of shop you could want. Lewis & Cooper delicatesan store, Boyes, Yorkshire Trading Company, Original Factory Shop, Betty's, Edinbrough Woolen Mill, Lakeland, boutique clothing shops. It has some great restaurants too. 10 minutes by train to Darlington and busses to nearby towns. Market Wednesday and Saturday. Sainsbury supermarket and B&M 10 minutes walk from the end of the high street. Sorry, I was too busy enjoying our stay to take pictures

    Northallerton was 38 minutes from where we live.

    Northallerton was 38 minutes from where we live. Quick train journey, giving you more time on your break. Saturday Market was lovely. Hot weather was a bonus, lots of lovely people. Lots of charity shops. Pubs were great for drink & food. Love our time in Northallerton. Would definitely go again.

    Northallerton is between the Yorkshire Dales and North York...

    Northallerton is between the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks and is an ideal place from which to explore their beautiful scenery. The town itself has all the usual chain shops and supermarkets, but it also has independent shops such as Lewis and Cooper's delicatessen and Barker's department store. There is also an excellent market on the Main Street on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

    Room very comfortable and staff helpful Shame the food was of a poor standard. Breakfast eggs dry because they were reheated Dinner. Chips were uneven in cooking. Reheated. Scampi was soggy and mushy inside the breadcrumbs. Mushy peas were nice.

    Saturday is market day,with a lovely selection of stalls.

    Saturday is market day,with a lovely selection of stalls. From clothes, food, footwear accessories to fruit and vegetables. People are friendly. Baskets is a lovely department store with 3 different eating places. The main restaurant there serves hot meals, snacks and lovely cakes.

    Second visit to the Village Inn as a stopping off point during Coast to Coast walk. Service from all members of staff was commendable. All our party agreed the restaurant food ticked the right boxes, dinner and breakfast were delicious, well cooked an piping hot. Rooms are located at the back of the property and are quiet and hotel offers parking on site.

    The hotel is central with easily accessible free parking at the rear. The buffet service breakfast was beyond my expectations - eggand bacon beautifully cooked for one of us and including the possibility of toasted crumpet and honey for the other. Staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. Whole place sparkling clean. Hope to return.

    There were a few food items provided by the host which were much appreciated, including milk, bagels, butter and crisps. The lodge was very quiet and in a good location for our trip to the area. Richmond and Northallerton were both a short drive away. There were plenty of places to walk in the area. We very much enjoyed our stay.

    Lovely room. Spacious, light, very clean with a comfortable bed. Lovely modern bathroom. Good tea/coffee selection in room. Breakfast was very good too. Staff helpful and friendly. Excellent for evening meals too. Very good location in a quiet village which would make a good base for exploring North Yorkshire.

    Last minute booking. No places in the big chains of hotels. And then this came up, a lot cheaper and near to where I was ready for the next working day. Closer than the big chains could offer. Set in a nice little village. 4 minutes off the motorway.
