Our trip was purely to visit the historic naval sites including the Mary Rose and Victory, but it ended up being so much more. Gorgeous accomodation, great food, lovely scenery and the locals were so friendly and knowledgeable. Nice shopping area lots of nice places to eat as well Visit to the Dockyard is well worth it and especially as you can use the ticket for a whole year so can return as many times as you want . The spinnaker is amazing especially to look over the view of Portsmouth /Southsea and Gosport . It was a nice atmosphere and exceptionally clean in Gunwharf Quay area. It was a shoppers paradise with cinema bowling alley and plenty of places to eat. Nice place to sit and watch sunsets, boats and ferries in the harbour and just people watch. Great place, excellent transport connections, shopping experience appropriate to its size. Very enjoyable. Only drawback is the continuous inhalation of secondary smokes from undisciplined smokers.
